Wallingford Restaurant Closes Over Social Distancing Issues
The popular restaurant is temporarily closing because too many people aren't practicing social distancing and hygiene, the owners announced.
WALLINGFORD, CT — The Chuckwagon in Wallingford is temporarily closing because too many people aren’t practicing social distancing and hygiene, the owners announced Sunday morning. The Chuckwagon, located at 20 Ives Rd., had remained open for takeout and curbside pickup after Gov. Ned Lamont ordered all restaurants and bars to close for dine-in customers in March.
“Unfortunately, we have a bit of bad news,” The Nakis family wrote in a post on the Positively Wallingford Facebook page. “My family and I have decided to temporarily close down operations at The Chuckwagon til this pandemic is under control. We cannot and will not put ourselves and others in harms way. Although many of us are practicing social distancing and hygiene, many unfortunately aren’t which is a shame and this is what has led to our decision.
“I wish everyone to be safe and healthy, please practice social distancing as well as frequently washing your hands and this too shall pass so we can get back to normal as soon as possible. In the meantime, please continue to support our local businesses!!! It’s very important during these and all times.”
