Now is the time to join the over 2,000 people who have sponsored a plaque on the Niantic Boardwalk. What better way to commemorate the beginning of our return to normal after the Covid-19 pandemic!

There are stories behind every engraved plaque on the Boardwalk. In May, 2021, 32 States across the nation have been included. 83 Connecticut towns are represented from Windsor to Woodbury and Greenwich to Guilford. Even 2 foreign nations are represented.

The engravings- celebrating weddings, anniversaries, births, deaths, graduations, and cherished summer visits- express loss, sorrow, laughter, and contentment. Historians of the future will value this mirror of the heart and soul of a small town in Connecticut in the 21st century.

Bill and Fran Rinoski have been the chairs of this East Lyme Public Trust Foundation fund-raiser since the first dedication of the Boardwalk of the Boardwalk in 2005-16 years ago. Bill has said they were willing to take on this project for such a long time because, “I believed in the Boardwalk from the beginning…and I wanted to make this dream come true. I signed up to see this project through to the completion of the re-built Boardwalk” Every town should have volunteers with this perseverance and vision.

For a $100 tax-deductible contribution, become part of this permanent history by sponsoring a plaque with your own personal message. Don’t miss this opportunity to tell your unique story.

All funds raised by the sponsorship of the plaques are used to contribute to the maintenance of the Boardwalk and to other Foundation projects.

Ordering a plaque is easy. Go to this location on our web-site to print out an application.
