Heads-Up, Waterford: Another Day, Another Scam Alert, Police Say

WATERFORD, CT — Waterford police began getting calls from residents who said they got phone calls from a scammer claiming to be from Eversource demanding money.

"It is a scam! Again, hang up!" police say.

And, folks also got calls from another scammer saying they were from the police department and were seeking donations. The number on the caller ID came up as Waterford Police Department.

"We do not solicit money at the Waterford Police Department, this too is a scam!"

Waterford police say, "If someone calls you asking for money, sensitive financial information or personal info like your social security number, we recommend hanging up."
