2 Trapped Then Rescued In Miner Avenue Morning House Fire

Firefighters found a fully engulfed house fire at 28 Miner Ave., with two people trapped inside, both of whom were rescued.

WATERFORD, CT — A house fire at 28 Miner Avenue in Waterford temporarily closed Route 1 and Fog Plain Road as the scene continues to be investigated.

When firefighters arrived, reports said, the house was engulfed in flames and two people were trapped inside but was rescued by first responders.

The fire was reported at around 10:15 a.m.

It was reported that the person inside the house was pulled out throw a window. Waterford, New London, and Submarine Base fire departments responded as did police and medics. It was reported that at least one person was being treated by medics for burns. It’s not clear how many were injured and transported to the hospital. A number of surrounding homes were evacuated.
