Mosquitoes Test Positive For West Nile Virus In Waterford: Report

State health officials said a batch of mosquitoes collected in Waterford tested positive for West Nile Virus.

WATERFORD, CT — State health officials said a batch of mosquitoes collected on the Waterford/New London town line on July 18 tested positive for West Nile Virus last week, the New London Day reported.

According to the Day, mosquitoes have been testing positive for the virus in more places and at higher rates than in previous years. Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station officials said no humans have been diagnosed with the disease so far this year.
