Multi-Million Dollar Waterford Seaside State Park Proposed

The project comes at a considerable price tag, but is hoped to bring that and more back to the town.

A proposed multi-million dollar seaside state park is hoped to bring money into the town if approved, NBC Connecticut reported.

The project, estimated at $10 million, would bring money back to the state as a whole and the parks, according to NBC Connecticut. The parks reportedly lost $6 million in 2009 from the conservation fund, which were redirected to the general fund.

While the park would bring new hotels, restaurants and outdoor add-ons, park officials are also planning to convert historic buildings along the shore into a lodge of sorts, according to NBC Connecticut. If funded, the project could be finished by 2020.
