Obituary: Corina Justine Zukowski-Rodriguez, 25, Of Waterford

Corina Justine Zukowski-Rodriguez was born on July 31, 1993 in Middletown, CT and earned her angel wings unexpectedly on Monday, December 10, 2018. She was tragically taken from her family and friends through an unthinkable act of domestic violence.

Corina attended the Waterford School system and participated in soccer, softball and dance throughout her school years. She had near-future goals of getting a secondary education to go on to become a correctional officer in the field of law enforcement.

Corina loved and lived with no boundaries. She loved her family, including her brother and sisters, and most importantly her three boys. Corina had a special sense of humor and was not afraid to have fun by being silly. She also had a deep love of music. Corina loved to make people happy and was always willing to do anything that was asked of her.

During the summer, you could usually find Corina teaching the boys how to swim in the family pool before sunbathing with olive oil and of course, regretting it later. Corina was well known for her various facial expressions that made everyone cry with laughter. She was forgiving and loyal to a fault, yet never allowed that to stop her from being who she was.

Corina is survived by her mother and dad, Heather and Phil Rodriguez, her father, Ben Zukowski and her three sons, Landyn, Logan and AJ. She is also survived by her brother, Joshua and sisters, Leah, Jocelynn, Jamaysha, Julia, Nicole, Hailey, Nataliyah, Laightan, and Bryghtan, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends.

Funeral arrangements will be made by Neilan Funeral Home at 48 Grand Street in Niantic, CT with calling hours Thursday, December 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and funeral services to be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church (170 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford) on Friday, December 21 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Corina’s family has set up a benefit fund for her three children and contributions can be made to an account in the name of “Corina Zukowski-Rodriguez Children’s Benefit Fund” at Liberty Bank (165 Boston Post Road, Waterford) or any Liberty Bank branch.
