Road Closed After Car Crash Into Utility Pole

WATERFORD, CT — Police have closed Route 85 near the Waterford Speedbowl.

There was a report at around 9 a.m. of a single car crash into a utility pole in the area near 1068 Hartford Turnpike.

Police posted to Facebook:

"Route 85 is closed near the Waterford Speedbowl due to a car into a power pole, thankfully only minor injuries. Detours are from Lakes Pond and Way Hill Road. Avoid the area if you can, but the detours are available. This will be closed for several hours as the pole is resting on the vehicle and needs to be replaced."
