Road Closed In Waterford After Truck Hits Pole: PD

WATERFORD, CT — Police said Route 1 in Waterford is closed from Cross Road to Niantic River Road due to a motor vehicle accident. Travelers are advised to seek out alternate routes.

Police said a truck hit a telephone pole, causing it to snap in two. Police did not give a specific time for how long the road will be closed, however they said on Facebook the roadway would be "closed for quite a while."
