Santa To Ride Through Waterford In Fire Truck This Weekend

WATERFORD, CT - Catch an early glimpse of Santa Claus as he rolls through Waterford in a firetruck this weekend during the town's annual Santa Run. Those hoping to see the big guy roll by are asked to listen closely for sirens and the jolly sounds of "ho ho ho" as Fire Engine W51 makes its way through the Cohanzie Fire District, Crystal Mall and Waterford Commons areas.

According to a post on the Waterford Police Department's Facebook page, Santa will be will be collecting new unwrapped toys, clothes, food and monetary donations for those in need in and around the community.

Santa's firefighter helpers will be assisting him in this task, as the elves are busy up in the North Pole preparing for Christmas Eve.

Have the kids listen for sirens and find out when Santa will be riding down your street, according to Waterford police:

Sunday, Dec. 10, starting at 2 p.m.

Dayton Rd, Cottage Ln, Kenyon Rd, Ann Ave, Roseleah Dr, Soljer Dr, Chapman Ave, East Lake Rd, Pilgrim Rd, Bloomingdale Rd (to Gallows Ln), Meadow Dr, Hickory Dr, Mary St, Gilead Rd, Snowden St, Murray Ct, N. Phillips St, Tremont St, Lois St, Harborview Ave, Clifton St, Majorie St, Crown St, Vauxhall St, (to White Oak), Fairlawn St, Hillcrest Dr, Glenvale St, Maple Ave, Greentree Dr, Grabner Dr, Farmstead Ln, Rogers Hill, Beacon Hill, Quinley Way, Conshire Dr, Pond Edge, Waterview, Warwick Terr, White Oak Dr

Monday, Dec. 11, starting at 5 p.m.

Vauxhall St from White Oak to the Montville town line. Faulkner Dr, Jodry St, Old Barry, Briarwood Dr, Hunts Brook Rd, Waterford Country School, Douglas Ln, Way Hill Rd, Butlertown Rd, Lakes pond Rd

Santa will finish his ride each evening by passing through the Waterford Commons and Crystal Mall between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The Cohanzie Fire Company will also be collecting items for those in need on Dec. 16 and 17 at Toys R Us on Route 85 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Cohanzie Fire Company welcomes participants to drop donations at the station (53 Dayton Road) or at any Waterford fire station.
