Santa Visits Waterford Neighborhoods By Fire Truck
Santa rode through town collecting new toys, non-perishable food items and monetary donations for local families in need.

WATERFORD, CT — Though Santa typically travels by sleigh, he was recently spotted riding a firetruck through Waterford as part of the Cohanzie Fire Company's annual Santa Run. "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas" passed through various neighborhoods Sunday and Monday night, collecting new toys, non-perishable food items and monetary donations for local families in need.
According to the fire company's website, the department has in years past held its annual toy drive at Toys 'R' Us, however they were unable to do so this year due to the store’s closure. Those looking to give were asked to meet Santa on the street in front of their homes and greet him with gifts for those less fortunate.
Anyone not home on the day Santa passes through their neighborhood can also drop off new toys, non-perishable food items or monetary donations at their local fire station.
