Dorinda Elliott will speak on the idea that more and more Americans see China as a threat, and there seems to be consensus in Washington, DC, that the policy of "engagement" with China failed. But if the two countries are strategic competitors, how can we avoid becoming enemies? Like it or not, as the two largest economies and largest emitters of greenhouse gas, the U.S and China must find ways to work together. The first step is to start knowing each other better.

Elliott’s presentation is part of the SECWAC 2021 monthly Speaker Series. Register in advance at https://scwac.wildapricot.org/event-4089163
