Town Officials Debate Plastic Bag Use In Waterford: Report

WATERFORD, CT — On Wednesday, town officials again debated whether banning single-use plastic bags would have a positive or negative impact on Waterford, the New London Day reported. Officials subsequently agreed to come up with questions on pros and cons to review with town leaders.

According to the Day, some officials have called for a ban, citing ways it could benefit the environment as reasoning. Others raised concerns that a ban could impact businesses in town and discourage new ones from coming to Waterford.
