Waterford Baseball Player Drafted By Pittsburgh Pirates: Report

He was selected in the 11th round of Major League Baseball's annual amateur draft​.

WATERFORD, CT — An 18-year-old Waterford High School pitcher was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 11th round of Major League Baseball's annual amateur draft on Wednesday, the New London Day reported.

According to the Day, senior Mike Burrows will now decide whether to accept the Pirates' offer or honor his commitment to play for the University of Connecticut for the next three seasons. He is set to graduate from Waterford High on June 21.
