Waterford High School Hires New Football Coach
Zeth Nolda will take over the football program after John Strecker retired after six seasons.
WATERFORD, CT — Waterford Public Schools have announced the hiring of Zeth Nolda as the next head football coach at Waterford High School. The move comes after John Strecker retired after six seasons.

Nolda has been an assistant coach for the Lancers for the past five seasons in addition to his two years of football assistant coaching experience in Florida at Ridgeview High School. Nolda is an assistant wrestling coach where he has served both Waterford High School and New London High School since 2015.

"I'm eager to meet with the team and get the off-season program started with all of the student-athletes that are not participating in spring sports. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and as a staff we are ready to take on this next challenge," Nolda said in a statement from the school.
Nolda was a student and is currently a teacher at the school.

"I am positive that Zeth Nolda will have a lasting impact on this program, specifically the student-athletes that play for him," Chris Landry, Director of Athletics and Student Activities, said in a statement. "The athletes will always know deep down that Coach Nolda cares about his players both on and off the field."
