Shooting In Waterford Home Depot Parking Lot
Waterford police said three shots were fired at a car in the Home Depot parking lot Friday morning.
WATERFORD, CT — Police are investigating a shooting at the Home Depot in Waterford Friday morning. Police said a caller at 9:33 a.m. reported gunfire in the parking lot of the Hartford Road store.
Two men were attempting to steal tools from the store and got into a confrontation with a third person in the parking lot, police said. The third person is "not affiliated with the store and is not a law enforcement officer," police said.
During that confrontation, three gunshots were fired toward an occupied vehicle, police said. The person who fired the handgun remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

Two people in the vehicle fled the scene. The car was described as a gray, four-door car, possibly a Honda Accord. The vehicle has a Connecticut license plate and the first two letters are AG.
The vehicle may have damage to the front hood from the gunshots. The two people in the car are described as Hispanic men, one 20-30 years old and the other 45-55 years old.
