Waterford Police Invite Students To Decorate Tree

Police said a local first grade class helps the department decorate each year after the kids make decorations.

WATERFORD, CT — Police invited first-grade students from Great Neck Elementary School to police headquarters Monday to help decorate the department's tree. Police said on Facebook a local first grade class helps the department decorate each year after the kids make decorations.

"Officers Whitehead and Lane helped sing carols - Whitehead clearly didn't know the words," the post reads. "Buddy the Elf...who looks amazingly like Officer Fredricks...got everyone in the mood, then Santa arrived and listened to each child."

Police said the tree was successfully decorated and everyone had a good time. Check the department's Facebook page for pictures.
