Waterford Police Testing In-Car Video

If motorists are pulled over by one of the fleet's cars, police said video of the encounter may be viewed by department personnel.

The Waterford Police Department requested in-car video for a capital improvement project for fiscal year 2016-2017.

"We have started testing units, shown here in car #8," police said via Facebook. "Several vendors will be tested in the coming months to ensure that the proper equipment is ultimately selected."

Police said the lease on mobile data computers will run out in September so the department is testing MDCs as well.

"If you're pulled over by car #8 (we hope you're not!), video of the encounter may be reviewed by departmental personnel," police said.
