Waterford Woman Not Allowed To Have Pet Geese In Yard: Report
Town officials have taken issue with a Waterford woman's pet geese.

WATERFORD, CT — Town officials have told a Waterford woman her two pet geese are not allowed to live in her yard because they are considered farm animals, as reported by the New London Day.
According to the Day, the town became aware of resident Kristine Wilcox's pet geese after a neighbor complained the birds' food was attracting rats. While a town official later determined the food was not attracting vermin, it was also determined the birds technically violate town zoning regulations.
Regulations forbid farming on any property smaller than 120,000 square feet, and town officials consider the geese farm animals, according to the Day. Wilcox argues the geese are pets, and that they both kill pesky bugs and are good for the environment.
