$15M Worth Of Marijuana Seized In West Haven: Police
Authorities seized 1,700 pounds of marijuana with an estimated value of $15 million from a storage facility in West Haven, police said.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Authorities seized 1,700 pounds of marijuana Wednesday as part of an investigation into a large-scale, international marijuana trafficking operation, according to police. The marijuana had an estimated value of $15 million, officials said.
Following an investigation over the past several months, police found a storage facility in West Haven was being used as a hub to distribute large quantities of marijuana throughout the Tri-State area, according to officials.
The West Haven Police Department’s Street Crime Unit, with officers from the patrol division and K-9 unit, along with task force officers from the Drug Enforcement Administration and FBI, stopped a rented U-Haul box truck on Front Avenue in West Haven on Wednesday and seized the drugs, officials said.

Jourdan Maniray, 23, and I’real Jones, 20, both of Virginia, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell over 1 kilogram of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. They are scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court.
