2 Charged In Armed Carjacking In West Haven: Police
A driver was carjacked at gunpoint early Monday morning in West Haven, according to police.
WEST HAVEN, CT — Two teenagers were arrested in connection with an armed carjacking early Monday morning in West Haven, according to police.
The carjacking happened around 1 a.m. at the Citgo gas station at 62 Elm St., police said. Shawn Lamay, 18 of New Haven, and a 17-year-old boy pointed guns at the driver and removed him from the car, according to police.
The car was later seen in the area of Meloy Road in West Haven and patrol units responded to the area, police said.

Police found the car, but Lamay and the 17-year-old ran away, police said. Two West Haven K-9s were used to search the area for the suspects.
Both teens were found hiding in different locations and arrested, according to police. The teens still had the guns used in the robbery, police said.

Lamay was charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree larceny, carrying a pistol without a permit and possession of a high-capacity magazine. The 17-year-old faces similar charges.
