As of Friday, July 2, the tax office will once again be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  All offices at City Hall will observe the Independence Day holiday on Monday, July 5 and will be closed.

Individuals have several options to pay their taxes.  They can send checks and money orders by mail using the envelope included with tax bills.  A drop box in the hallway by the tax office accepts checks or money orders.  Cash, checks, debit cards, money orders and credit cards may be used to pay in-person.  Taxes can be paid online by accessing the City’s website and using a credit card.  People are encouraged to continue using online payments.

One service window outside the tax office on the Campbell Avenue side of the building will remain open for those who are more comfortable waiting in an outdoor space.  The assessor’s office will maintain a service window at this same location, as well.  People are welcome to wait inside and are encouraged to maintain social distance in line.

All visitors to City Hall must utilize the entrance on the Savin Avenue side of the building, across from the dental office, city officials said, and must sign in with the security guard, noting the time and location where conducting business, and sign out when business is done.

Health Director Maureen B. Lillis said face masks are still required for adults and children who are not vaccinated.

Rossi and other city officials will hold a soft reopening of the Allingtown/West Haven Senior Center on Thursday, July 8, followed by a grand reopening at a later date.  The Department of Elderly Services’ senior shuttle service will also resume July 8.
