Click It Or Ticket Campaign Announced In West Haven

Police will be cracking down on seat belt violations with extra patrols focused on promoting safe driving.

WEST HAVEN, CT — The West Haven Police Department will be participating in the “Click It or Ticket” campaign from May 17 to June 6, officials announced Friday.

“Throughout this campaign Officers shall conduct safety checks for seat belt use in our busiest intersections,” Sgt. Patrick Buturla wrote in a post on Facebook. “The goal of our participation in this program is to maintain safety belt use rates at a level that meets or exceeds the National average. The West Haven Police Department hopes to raise public awareness regarding the importance of wearing your seat belt and also wishes everyone safe travels this spring season.

“In addition, with the warm weather here please be mindful of the distracted driving laws also. There is obviously an increase in pedestrian foot traffic. Attentive driving prevents tragedies.”
