Convicted Felon Accused Of Operating Drug Factory: West Haven PD

The man was found to be in the possession of a stolen gun and drugs after authorities executed a search warrant, according to police.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A convicted felon faces several charges after authorities executed a search warrant Monday in West Haven, according to police.

Members of the Special Response Team, Street Crime Unit, and Task Force Officers from the FBI and ATF, executed a search warrant at a residence on North Place in West Haven, according to police.

During the search, authorities found a 9mm Ruger pistol that was reported stolen in Georgia in 2014, police said.

Police also found “ammunition for a different caliber firearm, marijuana packaged for street level sales, and evidence of a drug factory,” according to officials.

The resident, John Pierce, is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition, police said. Two young children were also in the home, according to police.

Pierce, 31, was charged with criminal possession of a pistol, criminal possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, operating a drug factory, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. He was held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
