Dive Bar In West Haven Temporarily Closes Over COVID-19 Exposure

The popular restaurant has temporarily closed due to a coronavirus "exposure," the owners announced.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Dive Bar in West Haven has temporarily closed due to a coronavirus “exposure,” the owners recently announced.

The popular restaurant at 24 Ocean Ave. will be closed as the owners address the exposure “in order to provide a safe environment,” according to a post on Facebook.

“We are bringing in a professional cleaning company to deep clean and sanitize,” the owners wrote in the Facebook post on Wednesday. “All of our employees are being tested and cannot return to work without negative a test result.

“We continue to be proactive about keeping our staff and customers safe, that is our number one priority.”

Owner Domenic Giannotti told the New Haven Register that the restaurant might open on Saturday, depending on when the employees receive their test results. He said someone associated with the restaurant tested positive for the coronavirus, but didn’t say if it was a staff member, customer or other person, according to the Register.
