DUI Driver Crashes Into Work Zone On I-95 In West Haven: Police
Police say three construction crew members were injured in the crash.
WEST HAVEN, CT — Three construction crew members suffered minor injuries when a driver operating under the influence crashed into a work zone Tuesday night on I-95 North in West Haven, according to Connecticut State Police. The highway construction project was set up between Exits 42 and 44 and the left and center lanes were closed.
At about 10 p.m. on May 5, state troopers responded to an accident that took place within the construction zone past Exit 43 in West Haven. The driver of a Nissan Murano swerved from the right lane into the construction pattern and collided with a concrete barrier, according to police.
“The vehicle then swerved out of control into a trailer, within construction zone, and made contact with three construction crew members working in the area,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Thankfully only minor injuries were sustained from the construction crew members.”
