‘Hands Off Our Zoning’: West Haven Residents To Rally In Protest

The rally will be held Saturday at the West Haven Green gazebo.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A group of West Haven residents will join forces Saturday in a rally against state bills that aim to give lawmakers more control over affordable housing initiatives and development in Connecticut's towns and cities.

Some bills in the Connecticut house and senate today aim to make changes to local zoning regulations, including one that would levy additional tax against cities lacking affordable housing and another allowing affordable multifamily housing to be built near train stations and main streets.

The "Hands Off Our Zoning" rally, organized by CT169Strong — a group that advocates for individual rights and local oversight —will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the West Haven Green gazebo.
