Driver In Crash Dies, Suffered Gunshot Wound: West Haven Police

WEST HAVEN, CT — A driver involved in a crash died after apparently suffering a gunshot wound Friday afternoon in West Haven, according to FOX 61.

Police responded to a crash in the 800 block of First Avenue around 2:45 p.m. and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, the New Haven Register reports.

Police advised motorists to avoid the area surrounding First Avenue and Spring Street due to heavy "policy activity."

"This investigation is expected to be prolonged and motorists are advised to plan on delays if driving in the area," police wrote in a post on Facebook earlier Friday afternoon. "Thank you for your cooperation and drive safe."
