This weekend's weather isn't going to be good but there is some excellent news weather-wise for next week.
WEST HAVEN, CT — The latest details on the Mother’s Day weekend forecast in West Haven includes lots of rain, but once we get past this weekend, we're finally looking at a nice weather week coming up.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons wrote, "Lots of clouds and some sunshine today with our temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. More clouds tonight leading to rain moving in on Saturday. The rain will be moving in very slowly starting around 8 AM western Connecticut and it might take until 3-4 PM eastern Connecticut. Heavy rain Saturday night, ending early on Sunday. Not a washout, but a few scattered showers possible for Mother's Day."

Saturday Night: Rain. Low around 45. East wind 14 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Sunday: Rain likely, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 61. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday Night: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.
Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 62.
