“Little Miss Westie follows Luca and Ren, along with their loving and supportive parents, as the pair embark on the process of transitioning to their true selves and Ren takes part in West Haven’s Lil Miss Westie Pageant with Luca, a former pageant participant, offering guidance,” according to a news release. “As the siblings navigate everyday life along with the ups and downs of puberty and pageants, the family also runs against changing social values and behavior in a social climate brought on by the 2016 U.S. presidential elections.”
Other films airing on WORLD during Pride month include “The Rogers,” a portrait of the first visible community of transgender men in the Pacific Islands, the Rogers of Samoa; “Unsettled”, which follows four LGBTQ people fleeing persecution in their homelands of Syria, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo and adjusting to life as asylum seekers in America, and an encore presentation of “Stonewall Uprising.”
