Local Funeral Director Re-Elected to Statewide Board

Albert M. DeLucia has been elected to serve a sixth one-year term on the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association’s (CFDA) Executive Committee.

A third-generation funeral director/embalmer, DeLucia is Vice-President of Porto Funeral Homes, with locations at 830 Jones Hill Rd. in West Haven and 234 Foxon Rd. in East Haven and .

DeLucia became a funeral director/embalmer in 1982 after receiving his professional schooling at the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. He is the grandson of the late Albert L. and Mary Connelly Porto Sr. who opened Porto Funeral Home in 1931. Today, he operates both funeral homes with his mother, Anne Marie Porto DeLucia, and his brother, Clem DeLucia, who is the firm’s President.

DeLucia lives in North Haven.
