Man Accused Of Sexual Assault: West Haven Police

A man, who was out on bond in connection with a manslaughter case, is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile, according to police.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A West Haven man, who was out on bond in a manslaughter case, was arrested over the weekend on sexual assault charges, according to police.

Antoine David Smith, 37, was arrested on a warrant and charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault and three counts of risk of injury to a child.

An investigation by the Special Victims Unit found that Smith had “multiple sexual encounters” with a juvenile victim, police said.

Smith was arrested April 12, 2019, in connection with a fatal assault that occurred outside a Krauszer's in West Haven. A man died several days after the assault, police said at the time.

Smith was charged with second-degree manslaughter and was released after posting a $50,000 bond. He has pleaded not guilty and the next court date is March 3, according to state judicial records.
