Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Woman, 74, In West Haven: PD
The 27-year-old man is accused of breaking into a senior living facility and sexually assaulting a resident, according to police.
WEST HAVEN, CT — A Massachusetts man is accused of sexually assaulting a 74-year-old woman at a senior living facility in West Haven, according to multiple reports.
WTNH News 8 reports the assault happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday at Surfside Apartments at 200 Oak St. The victim told police the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Giani Morales, broke into her apartment and sexually assaulted her, according to WTNH News 8.
Morales was still inside the apartment when police arrived and was immediately taken into custody.

FOX 61 reports tenants at Surfside Apartments are demanding more security at the public housing complex in response to the incident.
Morales got into the complex by following a delivery person in before the door shot, according to FOX 61.

Morales is being held in lieu of a $1.25 million bond. During Wednesday’s arraignment, Judge Maureen Dennis told Morales that this is “one of the most appalling scenarios that I have read in a police report in the 25-plus years that I have been a judge,” the New Haven Register reported.
