New Restaurant Coming Soon In West Haven

The restaurant and bar will open in the former location of a popular eatery that closed abruptly earlier this year.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A new restaurant and bar is expected to open next month in the former location of the popular Oyster River Tavern, which closed abruptly in February, in the Baybrook Plaza on Ocean Avenue in West Haven, according to the New Haven Register.

The Register reports Riptide, which is owned by Art Kelly, received unanimous approval from the Planning and Zoning Commission this week.

Kelly told the Register the restaurant will serve “classic New England” fare such as fried seafood, steak, chicken, burgers, wings and wraps. It will seat 74 patrons, including 14 on a patio.
