Obituary: Brian M. Butler, 47, of West Haven
Brian, known as charismatic, loving and dependable, worked at the West Haven Waste Water Treatment Plant and was an avid Boston Bruins fan.
WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Brian M. Butler, 47, born December 31, 1973 at Yale New Hospital, peacefully passed away at his home in West Haven on June 2, 2021.
Brian left behind his loving parents Doug and Celeste Butler, brother Robert D. Butler (wife Amy, nieces Avery & Emerson, and nephew Ian), his girlfriend Kristin Dreifuss, his “sister” Alana Montano, and his lifelong friends Paul Skerritt and Robert Reed.
He adored all animals and dearest to his heart were his fur babies, Max and Ruby, Redmond and Paris.
As a charismatic, loving, and dependable man, he was a devoted son to his parents and was always there to take care of his father.
He was loved amongst many friends. Many of these friendships he has maintained since attending West Haven High School and even as far back as grammar school.
At the time of his passing, Brian was employed at the West Haven Waste Water Treatment Plant (20+ years) as an operator and a member of AFSCME Local 1303-345 Union.
Brian valued and appreciated his fellow union members and co-workers. Their friendship and support had a profound impact on him that he cherished deeply.
Brian was a natural athlete and at a young age, he developed a passion for hockey. Throughout his youth and high school career, he received many accolades, awards, and a State Championship as he excelled in hockey.
He loved playing golf and was known amongst his buddies as “The Happy Gilmore” golfer.
He was a certified scuba diver and whether he was jet skiing, boating or fishing, he loved just being in or on the water.
He enjoyed all things outdoors, from grilling to hiking. As much as he loved playing sports, he enjoyed being a fan as well. He was a passionate Bruins and Red Sox fan.
Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2 to 6 pm, with remembrances beginning at 5:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green.
