Obituary: Jose V. Andrade, 96, of West Haven
Jose worked many years for O&G Construction, was a member of the laborers union and was a former President of the Cape Verdean Social Club.
WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Jose V. Andrade, 96, of West Haven entered into rest on May 22, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Luiza Figueiredo Andrade.
Born in New Bedford, MA, he was a son of the late Victorino M. and Anna R. Soares Andrade.
Jose was blessed with a large and loving family, including his four children Manny, Joey and Cisco (Portia) Andrade and Mary Edwards; seven grandchildren Desiree, Bianca, Kai, Ajai, Cisco, Josh and Nia; seventeen great grandchildren Shaniaqua, Danielle, DJ, Madison, Dakota, Kai, Iak, Allyissa, Nakira, Ayanna, Tyrese, Shaun, Takaiah, Tyrique, Lt. Cisco, Aria and Lindawe and three great great grandchildren Chloe, Kehlani and Avery, who is due in June; his brother Jose Livramento and sister Maria Livramento Silva.
He is predeceased by three brothers Antonio, Manuel and Joao Andrade and one sister Rufina Andrade Paris
Mr. Andrade retired from O & G Construction and was a member of the laborers union. A longtime member of the Cape Verdean Social Club, he served as a past president.
Beside his family, he had many friends and a kind word for all.
Visitation will take place on Friday May 28 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green from 9 to 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John XXIII Parish, Church of St. Louis at 11 o’clock.
Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
