West Haven Mayor Nancy R. Rossi is urging residents to get the coronavirus vaccine after receiving her first dose on Wednesday.

WEST HAVEN, CT — West Haven Mayor Nancy R. Rossi is urging residents to get the coronavirus vaccine after receiving her first dose on Wednesday.

Rossi, 62, took the injection of Moderna vaccine at a clinic for city employees 55 and older in the Emergency Operations Center to demonstrate the importance of getting the inoculation.

“I urge all eligible West Haven residents to get the vaccine to help beat the coronavirus pandemic,” Rossi said. “The shot is both safe and effective.”

Under the state’s March 1 rollout of Phase 1c, those ages 55-64, along with educators and child care providers of all ages, can start receiving the vaccine.
