WEST HAVEN, CT — An 8-year-old West Haven girl battling cancer had her wish come true last month when she was able to visit her father in the Army in Kansas for the holidays, according to WTNH News 8.
WTNH reports Samyra Mills was found to have a tumor lodged in the back of her brain in July of 2018. She underwent multiple surgeries, radiation and then chemotherapy.
Thanks to the nonprofit LivFree, which was launched by Daniel Vieira of Shelton three years ago after his toddler survived leukemia, Samyra and her father were together for the holidays for the first time in three years, according to WTNH.
