West Haven Poet Laureate Tony Fusco and the Connecticut Poetry Society programmed Poets Read Love Poems on Feb 11th, hosted by ArtsWestCT. The event drew registrants for a lively yet relaxing evening of reading, deep listening, and good company. It felt like a Winter Reunion when Vivian Shipley, PhD, greeted past and present students from her Creative Writing classes at SCSU, where she has taught since 1969. She remarked in correspondence the next day, "Tony Fusco and Patti do so much good for all of the poets in CT. They have worked so hard for many years to make the CT Poetry Society thrive. Pat Mottola is also a wonderful new President. I think it is wonderful that West Haven has a Poet Laureate and that you celebrate the art of poetry." Interested in more events like this?
