West Haven Man Charged In Burglary Knew The Victim: Police
The day of the burglary, the man texted the victim, admitting to breaking into her garage and stealing a power tool, according to police.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A West Haven man faces several charges after breaking into the garage of a Fairfield woman who he knew and stealing a power tool, police said.
Salvatore M. Uscilla is scheduled to be arraigned Friday after he was arrested March 13 on a warrant for charges of third-degree burglary, which is a felony, as well as third-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny, according to police.
A homeowner on Candlewood Road contacted authorities June 9 and reported her home had been burglarized, police said. Officers found a door to the home’s garage was damaged and a power tool was missing, according to police.

Later that day, the woman received a text from Uscilla, who admitted to her, and later to law enforcement, that he broke into the home and stole the tool, police said.
Uscilla, 28, of the 100 block of Prospect Avenue, is free on a promise to appear in court, according to police.
