West Haven Man Killed In Shooting: Woodbridge Police
Police have identified a West Haven man as the homicide victim at a playground in Woodbridge and are asking for help with finding his car.
WOODBRIDGE, CT — Police have identified the victim of a homicide that happened at a playground/athletic field in Woodbridge as Rondell Atkinson, 33, of West Haven.
Atkinson’s body was found on the property of the Pease Road Playground/Alegi Athletic Fields at 160 Pease Road. A jogger reported finding the body around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, according to police.
Atkinson was found dead with gunshot wounds at the scene, police said.

“Detectives from the Woodbridge Police Department and Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death and are seeking to locate his vehicle,” police wrote in an update on Wednesday.
The vehicle, pictured below, is a gray 2016 Hyundai Sonata, four-door sedan, bearing Connecticut Registration: BC15394.
