The Albertus Magnus junior received the honor for the first time this week.
WEST HAVEN, CT — West Haven’s Salah Oumorou, a junior on the Albertus Magnus men’s soccer team, was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week on Monday.
Oumorou continued his impressive play to start the year, scoring three goals and adding a pair of assists for eight total points in the Falcons' 1-1 week. He opened play with two goals and an assist in Albertus' 4-0 victory over Dean College on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Oumorou then tallied one goal and one assist in a 4-3 overtime setback against Pine Manor on Saturday.
For the year, Oumorou is tied for the league lead with 13 points, while being second in both goals (5) and assists (3). His early-season play has guided the Falcons to a 3-1 record, which is tied for the most wins in the GNAC. Today's honor is a first for Oumorou, who was named Rookie of the Week on three occasions in 2017.
