West Haven Woman Appears on Wheel of Fortune; How Did She Do?

She auditioned for the show two weeks at Mohegan Sun casino and was picked to appear on the national television show on Thursday evening.

WEST HAVEN, CT - A West Haven woman who works in communications at Yale University made some serious money on the nationally syndicated television show Wheel of Fortune on Thursday night.

Marilyn Wilkes won $9,500, solving four different puzzles, more than the other two contestants.

Unfortunately she fell just short of finishing in first place, meaning she didn't get to play the final, big money puzzle.

Wilkes, who told host Pat Sajak that she has a 16 year old daughter and is a singer in a band though she's "in between gigs" right now, got her shot to be on Wheel of Fortune by auditioning two weeks ago at the Mohegan Sun Casino. She was shocked two weeks later, when she got a letter saying she'd been selected to be on the show.
