West Haven Woman Charged In Fatal Shooting: New Haven Police
One woman was killed, another woman was injured and a third woman was arrested in connection with a double-shooting in New Haven, police say
NEW HAVEN, CT — A West Haven woman has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting Tuesday night in New Haven, according to police.
One woman was killed, a second woman was injured and Brianna Triplett, of West Haven, was arrested, according to New Haven Police Capt. Anthony Duff. Police are investigating the woman’s death as a homicide.
The incident happened around 10:15 p.m. when New Haven police and fire units responded to 911 calls of a person shot near the intersection of Legion Avenue and Auburn Street. Police found a gunshot victim near a parked car on Auburn Street, where Triplett was also detained, according to Duff.

The gunshot victim, a 28-year-old New Haven woman, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where she later died, Duff said.
At the crime scene, police found a second gunshot victim who was now outside a corner store on nearby Sylvan Avenue at Greenwood Street, according to Duff.

Duff said the 28-year-old West Haven woman had been shot in the hand. She was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, according to Duff.
Investigators believe the three women were arguing on Auburn Street before the double-shooting.
Duff said Triplett has been charged “during the early stages of the investigation.”
Triplett, 32, was charged with first-degree assault. She was held overnight in lieu of a $1 million bail and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning.
