West Haven, CT, May 4, 2021 — Rev. E. Carl Howard of the First Congregational Church West Haven announced that they are hosting a City-Wide Memorial Service to remember and honor the lives lost to Covid-19. He is asking the Citizens of West Haven to come to the City Green to participate in this healing service.

The memorial will take place at 7:30 p.m. on May 13 and include a lighting ceremony on the West Haven Green, 1 Church Street, West Haven, CT.

Speakers to include the Honorable Nancy R. Rossi, Mayor, City of West Haven, Reverend E. Carl Howard and other clergy and spiritual leaders of the West Haven Community, the ringing of the church bells will occur at 8:02 p.m. in a moment of unity and remembrance."

Despite the roll-out of vaccines, the effects of the pandemic are still present, with many Westies still grieving the loss of family, friends, and neighbors. We must honor and remember those who have died and reflect on what has been one of the more challenging periods in the city's history, and renew our commitment to coming together as we heal together.

CDC guidelines will be followed.
