January 8 2020

After nearly three years of work, the City will host the first Traffic Calming Meeting for Zone 1 to present concepts to the community. Zone 1 is in the northern part of the City as the map indicates. Among the traffic calming solutions to be considered are traffic circles, speed humps or speed tables, in-street pedestrian crossing signs and raised intersections.

To help facilitate the implementation of the Traffic Calming Projects throughout the City of Coral Gables, the City was divided up into five zones. If you live in Zone 1, please join us on Wednesday, January 22, from 6:30- 8:30 p.m. at the War Memorial Youth Center located at 405 University Drive. To date, the City has negotiated a traffic calming agreement with Miami-Dade County that allows the City a lower threshold to qualify for traffic calming devices; collected concerns from residents through emails, phone calls and community meetings; collected traffic data citywide and developed traffic calming concepts for the locations that met the traffic calming criteria.

Your input is very important to us. For questions, please contact Melissa De Zayas at mdezayas@coralgables.com or 305-460-5128.
