Construction At Coral Gables City Hall: Roof Update

The roof at Coral Gables City Hall is being redone.

The current roof was installed in 1998 and used a custom handmade barrel tile mixed with some original salvaged tile and needs to be replaced. Most of the original roof tile was damaged when it was reused. Unfortunately, it proved too brittle to be salvaged a second time and the work could not be guaranteed. The tile for the replacement roof is the same -- a handmade true barrel tile with a four-color blend. Installation is expected to be completed by June.

This refurbishment meets the Secretary of Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
