Thank you to all who came out to the City's first Gables Family Literacy Festival at the War Memorial Youth Center this past Saturday. Mayor Vince Lago, Vice Mayor Michael Mena, and Commissioners Rhonda Anderson and Kirk R. Menendez took part in the festival's ribbon-cutting, officially inaugurating this fun and educational event. A row of food trucks provided delicious treats for the many families who enjoyed book readings, crafts, book shopping, a rock climbing wall and more. “The inaugural event was a great success,” said Fred Couceyro, Coral Gables’ Director of Community Recreation. “We look forward to working with our many community supporters and partners and hope to make this an annual happening.
