Miami Weather: Hurricane Florence May Bring Rough Surf

The National Weather Service is calling for a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday in the Miami area.

MIAMI, FL — Thursday will be partly sunny around Miami with a 50 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms. Don't forget the umbrella when you head to work or school. But if you are heading to the beaches, be prepared for possible rough conditions thanks to Hurricane Florence.

Weather forecasters are predicting that large swells from Florence will create hazardous marine conditions, beach erosion, and large surf in South Florida on Thursday-Friday. This is particularly a concern for Palm Beach County. Forecasters said there will also be a high rip current risk beginning Thursday in Palm Beach County.
