Dunedin Bicycle Bandits Behind Bars, Authorities Say

Two Dunedin men who allegedly swiped a bicyle from an open garage on San Christopher Drive on Nov. 14 are facing felony charges, according to authorities.
Pinellas County Sheriff's arrest records indicate that David Shawn Hawkins, 24, of Amberlea Drive South, and Steven Frederick Towle, 20, of Wildwood Court, are arrested and charged with entering the garage of a single family home on the 1500 block of San Christopher Drive shortly before 8 p.m. on Nov. 14.
The two men were located a block west of the home about 30 minutes later in possession of a blue, men's three-speed MBS bicycle, which is valued at $100, accoring to arrest records.

The victim was able to confirm it was his bicycle, according to investigators.
Hawkins was arrested and charged with one felony count of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and is serving a sentence for an August misdemeanor count of unlawful tattooing of a minor. Bond assessed for the burglary charge is $10,000.

He is awaiting trial at Pinellas County Jail.
Towle was arrested and charged with one felony counts of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling. He is awaiting trial at Pinellas County Jail on previous charges of dealing in stolen property and grand theft.
Bond assessed for Towle's Nov. 14 burglary charge is $10,000.
